I was having the same issues with my OptiPlex I’m operating on a desktop intel dq35j0 and clean installed window 7 ultimate. The socket would not be in the main group of connectors but separate and in dq335jo vertical slots. Did this solve your problem? To be clear serial ;ci are legacy devices and seldom used today.
