I’ve never taken it all the way apart, but it looked the same inside from what I remember. Those Yellow Alps are definitely clones, but yeah, the upside-down Alps logo and two-tabs are a dead giveaway for simplified White Alps. Soon enough that’ll happen, this guy deserves a good cleaning. Sat Apr 02, 6: Thanks for the replies! But from what I can tell, the switches don’t seem to have these 4 tabs. I think these are the only two varieties appearing on this board, but I have yet to pull all keybpard keys off to really see. I never knew there were alps keyboards made with the actual alps branding on them.

A switch exists that resembles SKFR but with a taller slider that accepts regular Alps keycaps; this switch has been found only inand were this to be SKFRAK, the date may explain its omission from the catalogue.
They are in decent condition, just need a little clean up. The result is greater tactility than if a typical tactile leaf were used, but at a cost of requiring some empty space within the switch. Something that isn’t very common on most alps boards.

SKFS Yellow is a reduced-depth switch. This article requires additional photographic illustration — internals of black variant needed. With Alps, the condition of the keyboard is often times much more important than the variant of switches themselves, unless the switches are rare.

This is the keyboard with engraved letters and numbers under each key cap for the most part as referenced in this post. Alps part number SKFRAK was previously listed on the Web as a surplus part without any details; neither Google keyhoard Bing search is aware of any supplier currently listing this part.
Fri Apr 01, It has an integrated Glidepoint mechanism that acts as the mouse. These rack-mount keyboards don’t show up that often on eBay, but I have seen them once or twice before. Nothing matching this description was included in the Alps catalogue, but it has been found in keyboarv from ca. Soon enough that’ll happen, this guy deserves a good cleaning. It has White Alps and a grey metal plate I’ve only ever seen black before but it does have some corrosion because the stabilizer clips were greased and this trapped dirt and moisture.
